So... this was my first attempt ever at trying to make a game, and I told myself that I would submit anything even if it wasn't done. 


So, this is my attempt. It was supposed to incorporate different government modes. There is a bar, and each color represents a form of governance, green is Theocracy, blue is Democracy, and red is Authoritarianism. 

In Theocracy Mode, a random modifier is chosen every 5 seconds you are in the mode:

  • Divine Intervention: Temporarily increases the meter movement for each click. 
  • Faith Healing: Slowly regenerates any lost points or counters negative effects. 
  • Pilgrimage: The meter moves slower, symbolizing a journey of faith. 
  • Tithe: Periodically, a portion of your points is deducted as a 'tithe'. 
  • Miracle: A rare modifier that can significantly boost your progress or provide a substantial positive effect. 

In Democracy Mode, you get a choice of two random modifiers, with a computer randomly choosing an option as well. If you both choose the same answer, the effect goes into effect:

  •  Public Vote: Increase points for a short duration, representing successful public policies. 
  • Coalition: A boost is applied but can suddenly change or end, symbolizing shifting political alliances. 
  • Partisan Politics: The meter randomly goes up or down by 2% every click, representing political instability. 
  • Referendum: Gives a one-time option to make a significant change in the game (like resetting the timer, doubling points, etc...). 
  • Freedom of Speech: Every few clicks generate extra points, symbolizing the power of free expression. 

In Authoritarian Mode, you have the choice between 3 modifiers that always go into effect:

  •  Iron Fist: Greatly increases points per click but too many clicks sets you going backwards at double the speed. 
  • Propaganda: Consistently adds points over time, symbolizing the influence of state media. 
  • Secret Police: Randomly removes a negative effect, but also has a chance of cutting the time in half. 
  • Five-Year Plan: Sets a high points target for a period. If achieved, offers a big reward; if failed, a significant penalty. 
  • Cult of Personality: Massively increases points for a short duration but followed by a period of very low gains, symbolizing the rise and fall of charismatic leaders.

The game runs on a 5 minute timer, with the goal being to keep the time going as long as possible, as well as get the highest score. If you stay in one Government too long, you start losing points as well, so there is some strategy involved.
